I love oatmeal in the morning… That is, when I roll out of bed early enough to make breakfast instead of grabbing a granola bar and juice. But, I am working on getting up earlier in order to incorporate a morning yoga practice. It’s just so hard when it’s below freezing; I don’t want to leave the warmth of my four quilts. Back to oatmeal, anyway. Strawberries and chocolate are a delicious combo, just perfect for when you want something sweet for breakfast.
- 1 cup oats (certified gf, if need be)
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup strawberries, chopped
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp cocoa powder
- a pinch of sea salt
Heat water and milk in a pot on medium heat. Add oats and simmer for 10 minutes, or until oats are cooked and liquid is absorbed. Add strawberries, maple syrup, cocoa, and sea salt. Stir until combined. Serve and enjoy!
