Dainty Necklace DIY

I have a friend who always wear the most delicate, beautiful, dainty necklaces. I have admired them for some time. It’s easy to make a dainty little necklace, though, so I did.

Supplies:

  • 1 clasp
  • 1 small bead (I made mine from oven bake clay)
  • 2 small jump rings
  • 4 extra small jump rings
  • 14 inches of dainty chain
  • 2 needle nose pliers
  • 1 wire cutter

Begin by cutting the chain in half with the wire cutter. Use an extra small jump ring to attach the clasp to one end of one chain. Use the needle nose pliers to close the jump ring shut. On one end of the other half of chain, use an extra small jump ring to attach a larger jump ring. This is what the clasp will attach to.

Attach the last two extra small jump rings through the end of each of the two halves of chain and squeeze shut with pliers. Loop the last small jump ring through the hole in the small bead. Put each of the extra small jump rings on either side of the bead, as pictured above.  Squeeze the jump ring shut.
